    A multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager to work in CT, NH or RI. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Civil Engineering with 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in the design and management of bridge or transportation projects. Ideally, 4+ of those years would be managing transportation projects of increasing complexity. In this position, you would lead a multi-disciplinary team of internal professional and external partners to deliver successful bridge and highway design projects. Project managers are responsible for not only managing the effectiveness and efficiency of organizations, but also the relationships we have with internal and external members including sub-consultants, clients, and vendors.

     

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Manage and lead diverse technical teams to deliver quality project designs meeting client and end customer needs;
    • Using established processes, manage a project successfully from its opportunity stage through implementation and closeout;
    • Understand, monitor and comply with contractual requirements and financial performance measures in compliance with our internal process;
    • Lead teams in a collaborative approach to solving design and team challenges;
    • Demonstrate excellent communication skills including verbal and non-verbal forms of communication as well as using good judgment concerning information sharing;
    • Monitor performance of technical teams including the use of our internal quality control program;
    • Work with management teams to help build an understanding of workflows, resource requirements and report on the performance of project teams and their members;
    • Work with HR and management teams to understand the skill sets and abilities of team members and project teams;
    • Align individual project deliverables to meet client goals;
    • Oversee projects of varying size, complexity, and delivery methods such as Design Bid Build, Design-Build, and Construction Manager/ General Contractor (CMGC);
    • Work with marketing and management teams to support and enhance business development, client management, and opportunity activities;
    • Assist in building reputation as an industry leader through focused professional development, participation in reputation building activities, and working with our internal teams to make team capacity;
    • Uphold Governmental and Corporate Quality Assurance Policies/Procedures.

     

    Experience/Qualifications

    • B.S. in Civil Engineering;
    • 8+ total years of progressively responsible experience in the design and management of complex bridge/transportation projects; which includes 4+ years experience in management of complex transportation projects;
    • Possess Professional Engineer License and ability to achieve reciprocity in designated states
    • PMP certification or similar is highly desired

    Additional Skills Highly Desired

    • Self-motivated to lead and mentor developing project managers and team members;
    • Experience in plan development, specification writing, cost estimating; and schedule development;
    • Experience managing design-build projects;
    • Competent in MicroStation and AutoCAD;
    • A highly practical approach to project delivery with the ability to properly assess available information, find innovative approaches, and make project decisions;
    • Experience working closely with and within the policies and procedures of Departments of Transportation in the Northeast;
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work concurrently on multiple projects;
    • Team oriented;
    • Experience in supporting business development including proposal preparation and participating in project interviews:
    • Excellent communication skills to build reputation and satisfaction with clients, sub-consultants and other stakeholders;
    • Detail oriented and quality focused;
    • Experience with Accelerated Bridge Construction a plus.
