  • Responsibilities

    Competency:
    Work requires thorough and advanced knowledge of the nursing process, patient assessment and nursing standards, knowledge of the California Nursing Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures, intermediate pharmaceutical, math skills and knowledge of management and assignment personnel.
    Must possess good verbal and written English communication skills. Peripheral IV experience and skills required. Good time management and prioritizing skills. Computer experience preferred.
    Analyzes data, determines time, place and sequence of healthcare or action to be taken on the basis of analysis of data; executing determination and/or reporting on events. Teaches, instructs patients and families on healthcare subjects, provides explanation. Demonstration and supervises practice, may make recommendations to physicians or other nursing staff based on nursing care principles to assure optimum patient care. Use physical strength of hands, fingers, arms, and legs, to move patients or equipment. Will select appropriate health supplies, medical equipment to assure appropriate medical care. Will speak to fellow employees, patients, physicians, and families in person and on phone.
    License/Registration/Certification:
    Must be currently licensed by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
    Must possess current American Heart Association Certification in Basic CPR.
    Successful completion of the National Certification Examination for his/her clinical specialty area.
    American Heart Association ACLS Certification
    Must possess current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP
    Additional Information:HCP must live outside of 100 miles from facility.
