  • Responsibilities

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Lead technical task team in preparing structural analysis, calculations, and designs of varying levels of complexity;
    • Mentor internal engineering talent to build our next generation of technical experts;
    • Perform comprehensive professional reviews, including constructability reviews, for projects involving conventional or accelerated bridge construction techniques;
    • Concept development and preliminary engineering in support of proposal responses, design-build opportunities, and client relationship building activities;
    • Assist in building a reputation as an industry leader through focused personal development, participation in reputation building activities, and working with our internal teams to develop skills;
    • Work effectively to meet scheduling requirements and quality control standards;
    • Uphold Governmental and Corporate Quality Assurance Policies/Procedures;

     

    Experience/Qualifications

    • B.S. in Civil Engineering with a structural design emphasis, M.S. preferred;
    • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in the design and management of complex bridge/transportation projects;
    • Possess Professional Engineer License;
    • Proficient in MicroStation and AutoCAD;
    • Experience designing, analyzing and developing complex bridge solutions using new and developing techniques.

    Additional Skills Highly Desired

    • Self-motivated to lead and mentor developing engineers;
    • Strong technical and plan development skills;
    • Active in industry organizations via performing research, publishing papers, working within committees, and attending industry events;
    • Proficiency in AASHTO seismic design.
    • Highly practical in approach to design with the ability to accurately assess available information, find innovative approaches, and make project decisions;
    • Experience working closely with and within the policies and procedures of Departments of Transportation in the Northeast;
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work concurrently on multiple projects;
    • Team oriented;
    • Excellent communication skills to build reputation and satisfaction with clients, sub-consultants and other stakeholders;
    • Detail oriented and quality focused;
    • Experience with Accelerated Bridge Construction and Design Build a plus.
