    PACIFIC CANCER CARE IS LOOKING FOR IT'S NEXT FINANCIAL ANALYST, IN OUR MEDICAL BILLING DEPARTMENT. DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH MEDICAL BILLING AND COLLECTIONS? IF SO, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO APPLY!

    Under the direction of the Executive Director, Revenue Cycle Manager, and Billing Lead, the Financial Analyst is responsible for working with patients/families to resolve their financial obligation for services received at Pacific Cancer Care through patient assistance programs, charity funds or other payment options/plan. Essential functions include but not limited to estimating out of pocket costs and preparing documents to present to the patient and interviewing with them to discuss available financial aids/payments options, reviewing the visit list and notifies front office for time-of-service collection, enrolling patients and following up with financial aid programs, assisting patients with their billing related concerns. The financial analyst will also assist with any other billing department duties assigned and maintains confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA laws.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Graduation from accredited High School required.
    • Graduation from business school/college and/or business/billing courses helpful.
    • Minimum one-year financial analyst/billing/similar and customer service experience required.
    • Computer and typing experience/skills.
    • Demonstrated excellent people skills, verbal skills and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE OF:

    • Basic billing, collections and reimbursement theory and practices.
    • Medical terminology
    • Medical office practices
    • Computer skills
    • Telephone skills
    • Filing procedures
    • Customer service practices

    ABILITY TO:

    • Type 20-25 words/minute
    • Multitask: ability to handle, use and respond to patients, phones, staff/MDs and computers simultaneously.
    • Sit for long periods.
    • Speak clearly to be understood by patients, MDs, and staff.
    • Maintain pace of practice.
    • Maintain confidentiality/HIPPA.

    PHYSICAL FACTORS: The physical abilities required of this position may include the following:

    • Vision sufficient to read handwritten, typed and computer documents throughout the shift.
    • Speech and hearing sufficient to receive and communicate detailed information clearly by phone and in person.
    • Motor skills sufficient to operate computer terminal, fax machine, copier, and telephone.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to use a variety of hand-held tools and to manipulate single sheets of paper and/or file materials.
    • Physical ability to reach, lift, and bend to retrieve and/or file materials.
    • Physical ability to sit, stand or otherwise remain stationary at work post for long periods of time.
    • Physical ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.
    • Physical ability to walk up and down one flight of stairs and between patient and departments throughout the day

    Pay DOE.

    Starting pay is $18.00
