As Sr. Financial Analyst, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success, serving as the central contact and key resource for business stakeholders during budget season, performing business report analysis, variance analysis, and other ad hoc business requests. You’ll also work with the Director of Expense Management, managing the annual budget process, driving strategic business decisions within the Life division through data-driven insights into key expenses and expanding analysis around profitability and performance.

What You’ll Do
Prepare annual budget of operating expenses for Life division (50%)
?Act as central contact for key stakeholders and their delegates
Perform cross departmental coordination between budget stakeholders, payroll, financial systems team, financial controls team, human resources, and other divisions
Prepare reports for key stakeholders of annual expense budget, budget targets, expense drivers and expense trends
Work proactively with key stakeholders to capture all planned expenses and capital expenditures within Hyperion
Review and analyze corporate allocations
Identify emerging trends through analytics associated with expense drivers and other key metrics (25%)
Gather data and analyze trends and relationships with expense drivers
Identify areas of cost savings opportunities, develop key performance indicators, and set benchmarks and goals with key stakeholders
Present results and findings to senior Leadership
Month End Close (15%)
Work with key stakeholders to estimate accruals needed at month end
Act as central contact for key stakeholders and their delegates
Advocate and champion continuous improvement within the functional area as well as throughout the organization
Ad Hoc Analysis and Reporting (10%)
Work with key stakeholders in giving visibility to expenses and budget
Help develop improved reporting using new Oracle products

Factors for Success
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics. CPA preferred
? 7+ years finance experience; 5+ years in cross functional finance positions covering both Product and Business decision support roles
Demonstrate high attention to detail, accountability and responsiveness to requests
Ability to connect the dots and see downstream impact on decisions and actions made upstream
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
