Job Duties
- Operates box van carrying drums with a lift gate to pick up and/or deliver drums at a specified destination.
- Operates truck in accordance with instructions received from dispatch or the supervisor each day.
- Conducts pre-trip inspection of trucks, loads necessary equipment onto truck, drives the truck to the destination.
- Loads, unloads and sets up vacuum hoses at job site when operating the vacuum truck.
- Reports all accident and injuries and completes an accident report form.
- Fuels truck at end of shift or as needed.
- Unload and unloads drums from back of van using a drum dolly when operating the box truck.
- Establishes and maintains the safety of their load.
- Ensures all loads are properly secured before driving.
- Ensures customers receive orders as scheduled.
- Drops each load at appropriate customer locations and ensures load is correct before departing.
- Ensures all safety concerns and malfunctions of the vehicle are reported immediately to a manager or member of the Safety Committee.
- Picks up will-call items as needed and verifies that paperwork matches the items picked up prior to departing.
- Communicates in advance with customers regarding arrival times and unloading equipment needs.
- Operates assorted power and hand tools and performance general maintenance on the truck.
- Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
