Job Title: Allison Transmission Technician
Job Purpose: Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul all Allison Transmission models, both on-highway and off-highway
Location: Burien/Seatac, Washington
Hours of Operation: M-F 8:00am–4:30pm (O/T as required) Duties:
Earn and maintain necessary certifications
Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and rebuilding of Allison Transmissions and similar automatics
Repair, adjust, maintain, and modify all components of the transmission per manufacturers’ specification
Use state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and computer software to troubleshoot and repair transmissions
Use manufacturers service manuals, bulletins, and prints to perform repairs
Quote repair cost accurately and adhere to budget
Document and repair warranty failures per manufacturer requirements
Produce professional service reports
Diagnose and repair transmissions and related components onsite at customer’s locations
Maintain a clean, organized, Safe work area
Perform all work in accordance with established safety standards
Skills:
Electrical System Troubleshooting
Competance with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repair
Experience troubleshooting diesel and/or natural gas engines
Accurate and legible documentation and writing ability
Ability to perform work in a timely manner, meeting service schedules and customer commitments
Working knowledge “MS office applications”
Motivated self starter who can work unassisted
Flexibility – Able to start, stop, change gears without losing momentum.
Qualifications:
Technical degree or certification is a plus
Minimum: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
3 to 5-years work experience Allison (or similar) automatic transmissions and related heavy duty trucks & equipment
Experience with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
Technical degree or certification a plus
Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions
Insurable driving record and the ability to pass a D.O.T. Physical
CDL Class B with air brakes
