    An established apartment management and development company in San Diego is looking for a skilled Construction Technician to join our team. The incumbent will be part of a smaller construction team who is assigned various projects within our portfolio of apartment communities and new development throughout San Diego County. The person selected will be someone who has manual experience in construction, a jack of all trades! The position require travel throughout San Diego County to our various communities.

    Job Description

    The Construction Specialist is responsible for completing exterior and interior building and restoration projects in homes, apartment homes, parking lots, garages, roofs, and any task as directed by the construction manager.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Following instructions from construction managers and supervisors

    Loading and unloading building materials

    Assist in building or repairing structures for residential, multifamily, and commercial sites

    Participate in partial or full demolitions

    Assist in repairs of main water lines and or sewer lines

    Assist in water intrusion repairs

    Remove trees and debris

    Mix concrete

    Pump/pour concrete, grout, cement, cement, sand, or plaster

    Use spray guns for application of material both indoors and outdoors

    Read blueprints and designs

    Dig trenches

    Install sewer, water, and storm drainpipes

    Operate various types of drills

    Operate various types of machinery such as jackhammers, concrete, mortar, and plaster mixers

    Weld/solder to build or repair components

    Cleaning the construction site by removing hazards materials and debris from the worksite

    Assisting craft workers such as carpenters or electricians with their duties, if needed

    Constructing or taking apart scaffolding, bracing and other temporary structures for the construction site

    Operating various types of equipment used in construction sites

    Removing hazardous materials and debris from the worksite

    Assisting craft workers such as carpenters or electricians with their duties, if needed

    Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion

    Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary

    ​Qualifications:

    High School Diploma or GED​​​​​

    Current Driver's License

    Previous construction experience

    Experience with construction tools and equipment

    Ability to handle physical workload

    Deadline and detail-oriented

    Experience in construction/handyman services

    Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.

    Must be able to work independently or in a team

    Must be both personable and professional

    Must be able to observe all company procedures and safety rules

    Current Driver's License
