Assistant Construction Superintendent – San Diego, CA
Assistant Construction Superintendent opportunity for national property management and Development Company in San Diego with growth potential! The successful candidate will oversee, manage and direct all aspects of the assigned job site from demo to end. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership qualities that allow him or her to take control of a project and produce results. He or she may spend time in the field and in the office depending on projects schedule.
Position Details:
Full-time Position
Hourly Rate
Typical Schedule – Depending on business needs at time of hire
Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
Must Haves:
Knowledge of construction practices with an emphasis on MEP's
Manage all construction services and activities
Solid experience working with company estimator to plan, execute labor, supplies, materials, and other ancillary costs for new construction/build-outs
Drive cost-effective project management techniques and strategies in the field
Educate aesthetic and practical choices for build-outs
Hire and assign construction work to each project
Maintain a daily job site log
Maintain strict build-out construction schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
Work with City Inspectors to ensure a timely flow of the project
Work with Project Management to ensure quality and timely turnovers
Experience, Education, Knowledge
High school diploma or GED
Recent relevant experience working in multifamily new construction highly desired
Bachelor's Degree in building science, civil engineering, construction management or construction science – A PLUS but not required
5 years’ experience as a Project Superintendent in the construction industry
2 years’ Experience in build-out construction preferred
Able to plan, organize and follow through on work
Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations
Lift up to 50 pounds
Observe all company procedures and safety rules
Self starter, friendly, personable, and professional demeanor at all times
Valid driver's license
