Construction Junior Estimator – San Diego
Construction Junior Estimator opportunity for national property management and Development Company in San Diego with growth potential! The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to construct multifamily and commercial developments ranging from garden style to high-rise apartments. Position Details:
Full time position
Hourly Rate – Highly competitive -DOE
Typical Schedule – depending on business needs at time of hire
Ability to work weekends and provide on call support on a rotating basis
Must Haves:
Analyze drawings and specifications
Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner for Stipulated Price, Design-Build and Construction/Project Management formatted projects
Complete Budgeting and Scheduling for projects and track same
Formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress
Ensure site personnel are provided with proper documentation related to project
Maintain relationships with sub-contractors and clients
Meet with potential clients to discuss options for proposed services
Monitor progress, requisition change orders and identify any potential risks
Organize sub-contractors’ quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents and issue proper documented purchase orders
Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor costing
Provide clear detailed quantity take-offs
Understand contractual terms and conditions
Work with and deal with concerns of field personnel
Experience, Education, Knowledge
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in building science, civil engineering, construction management or construction science – A PLUS but not required
Minimum 1 year of experience working in the construction field in similar or related position
Previous experience estimating projects into the $ 5 to 20 million range
Experience in the multifamily construction industry
Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design
Exceptional communication skills
Able to plan, organize, multi-task, and follow through on work
Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations
Lift up to 50 pounds
Observe all company procedures and safety rules
Self-starter, friendly, personable, and professional demeanor always
Valid driver's license
