Paid Part-Time Internship Program: Consumer Goods & Merch
We are excited to announce our new paid internship program at Filmmakers Ranch.
This is not a token internship. It is not a vague “come hang around and see what happens” situation. And it is definitely not unpaid.
This is a paid, part-time internship for people who want to be part of building one of the most exciting creative spaces in Oklahoma from the inside out. That means real shifts, real responsibilities, real expectations, and real opportunities to make your mark.
At Filmmakers Ranch, interns help shape the atmosphere of our front reception and café — the front door to the Ranch and the social heartbeat of the campus — while also going deep in one specialist area of the business that fits their interests and field of study.
The idea is simple: you will work, you will learn, you will contribute, and you will leave having actually helped build something.
We split interns into one of seven specialist pods, each designed around a different part of the Filmmakers Ranch ecosystem. Some interns may be drawn to events. Some to film programming. Some to business development. Some to the land itself. But wherever you are placed, the goal is the same: to combine practical responsibility with meaningful creative experience inside a place that feels ambitious, welcoming, stylish, and alive.
This application is for Pod 4: Consumer Goods & Merch.

Help turn Filmmakers Ranch merch into something people genuinely want to buy, wear, keep, gift, and talk about.
This pod exists to build a merch line that feels less like branded giveaway material and more like a tasteful little creative label — something with point of view, charm, and collectibility. The goal is not to slap a logo on things and call it done. The goal is to create products that feel like an extension of the Ranch itself: cinematic, stylish, slightly unexpected, and worth taking home.
Think less “conference swag,” more:
the kind of hat, tote, mug, postcard, tee, notebook, or object someone sees on the counter and immediately wants because it feels cool, specific, and well-considered.
This pod helps build that feeling.
You might help shape seasonal product ideas, research materials and vendors, think through packaging and display, create product stories, improve how merch is presented in the café, or help turn a good idea into something beautifully executed and ready to sell. You might help develop small collections that reflect the tone of the Ranch and make people feel like they are taking a piece of it home.
Done well, this pod does more than sell products.
It builds identity. It builds desirability. It builds brand culture.
This is a part-time paid internship with scheduled shifts. We expect 4 shifts per week between 4 & 6 hours and shifts are available 7-days per week between 7.30am-9.30pm.
Interns will typically split their time between:
Front-of-house / café shifts
Helping shape the feel of the Ranch day to day by supporting reception, café flow, guest experience, and the overall warmth and energy of the space.
Working inside Consumer Goods & Merch to help imagine, organize, source, present, and improve the Ranch's product and retail experience.
This means the role combines hospitality, taste, brand thinking, coordination, and execution. You are not just observing. You are helping make the machine run.
Helping develop merch ideas, product concepts, and seasonal collections
Researching products, materials, pricing, packaging, and vendors
Supporting inventory organization, stock tracking, and product presentation
Helping style and maintain the merch display so it feels elevated and irresistible
Assisting with product descriptions, naming, signage, and storytelling
Coordinating with front-of-house and café operations so the retail experience feels seamless
Helping track what sells, what gets noticed, and what should be refined or expanded
Supporting launch moments, special drops, event-related merch, and limited-run ideas
Contributing ideas that make the merch feel more distinctive, desirable, and true to the Filmmakers Ranch brand
This is for someone who loves brands, objects, aesthetics, and the idea of turning a place people love into things they want to take with them.
You may be interested in branding, fashion, product design, retail, marketing, visual merchandising, creative direction, photography, or storytelling. You might just have great taste and a good instinct for what feels cheap versus what feels collectible.
You do not need to know everything. But you do need to bring energy, initiative, curiosity, follow-through, and the willingness to be useful.
Because this is a paid internship, we are looking for people who are excited not just by the idea of merch, but by the work of making it better. That means showing up on time, handling responsibility well, working assigned shifts, and taking pride in helping create products and displays that feel polished, thoughtful, and genuinely appealing.
Filmmakers Ranch is not trying to create forgettable merch that ends up at the bottom of a drawer.
We are building a brand world.
A place where the objects on the counter feel as considered as the rooms.
Where a tote feels like something you would actually carry.
Where a hat feels like something you would spot in the wild and want to know where it came from.
Where the right little product can extend the feeling of the Ranch beyond the campus itself.
This internship is a chance to help shape that world from the inside.
It is for people who want more than a line on a résumé. It is for people who want taste, responsibility, real outputs, visual instincts, creative momentum, and the satisfaction of helping build a brand people genuinely connect with.
You will not be stuck at the edges. You will be in it.
