Paid Part-Time Internship Program: Showreel ShootOut Production
Pod 2: Showreel ShootOut Production
We are excited to announce our new paid internship program at Filmmakers Ranch.
This is not a token internship. It is not a vague “come hang around and see what happens” situation. And it is definitely not unpaid.
This is a paid, part-time internship for people who want to be part of building one of the most exciting creative spaces in Oklahoma from the inside out. That means real shifts, real responsibilities, real expectations, and real opportunities to make your mark.
At Filmmakers Ranch, interns help shape the atmosphere of our front reception and café — the front door to the Ranch and the social heartbeat of the campus — while also going deep in one specialist area of the business that fits their interests and field of study.
The idea is simple: you will work, you will learn, you will contribute, and you will leave having actually helped build something.
We split interns into one of seven specialist pods, each designed around a different part of the Filmmakers Ranch ecosystem. Some interns may be drawn to events. Some to film programming. Some to business development. Some to the land itself. But wherever you are placed, the goal is the same: to combine practical responsibility with meaningful creative experience inside a place that feels ambitious, welcoming, stylish, and alive.
This application is for Pod 2: Showreel ShootOut Production.
Pod 2: Showreel ShootOut Production
Purpose
Help make Filmmakers Ranch the place actors, filmmakers, and emerging crew come to actually make work — not just talk about it.
This pod helps produce Showreel ShootOut: a recurring production initiative where actors and creatives collaborate to create polished filmed scenes inside the Ranch's standing sets. The result is not just a workshop or networking event. It is a live creative engine — part showcase, part training ground, part calling card factory.
The goal is to create a production experience that feels exciting, professional, and creatively alive — while helping participants leave with something tangible in their hands: a finished scene, a stronger reel, a better credit, a sharper collaboration, a clearer sense of what they can do.
Think less “student exercise,” more:
a stylish, well-run creative production lab where a great actor gets a reel scene they are proud to send out, a director gets something sharp for their portfolio, and a crew member gets proof they can execute under real conditions.
This pod helps build that reality.
You might help organize casting submissions, prep call sheets, coordinate scene logistics, support rehearsal flow, manage the room on shoot days, reset spaces between setups, or help shape the showcase screening where the finished scenes are shared. You might help create the systems, the energy, the pace, and the attention to detail that make the whole thing feel credible and worth being part of.
Done well, this pod does more than produce scenes.
It builds confidence. It builds credits. It builds momentum.
What the role looks like
This is a part-time paid internship with scheduled shifts. We expect 4 shifts per week between 4 & 6 hours and shifts are available 7-days per week between 7.30am-9.30pm.
Interns will typically split their time between:
Front-of-house / café shifts
Helping shape the feel of the Ranch day to day by supporting reception, café flow, guest experience, and the overall warmth and energy of the space.
Pod-specific shifts and responsibilities
Working inside Showreel ShootOut Production to help organize, support, coordinate, and execute a recurring filmed scene pipeline from prep through production through showcase.
This means the role combines hospitality, production support, coordination, and execution. You are not just observing. You are helping make the machine run.
Responsibilities in this pod may include:
Assisting with scene selection and production planning
Helping coordinate casting, schedules, and participant communication
Supporting rehearsals, prep, and shoot-day logistics
Helping manage talent flow, space readiness, and set resets
Assisting with call sheets, shot lists, sign-ins, releases, and production paperwork
Helping support directors, actors, and crew during ShootOut sessions
Coordinating with front-of-house and café operations so production days feel smooth and well-hosted
Helping organize showcase screenings or presentation nights for completed scenes
Contributing ideas that make the program feel sharper, more professional, and more valuable for participants
Who this is for
This is for someone who loves the feeling of production and understands that creative momentum depends on people who can actually make things happen.
You may be a film student, aspiring producer, AD, director, actor, editor, production coordinator, or someone who loves the energy of sets, schedules, logistics, and collaboration. You might be especially drawn to the intersection of creativity and execution — the part where ideas stop being ideas and start becoming real.
You do not need to know everything. But you do need to bring energy, initiative, curiosity, follow-through, and the willingness to be useful.
Because this is a paid internship, we are looking for people who are excited not just by the idea of filmmaking, but by the real work that makes filmmaking possible. That means showing up on time, handling responsibility well, working assigned shifts, and taking pride in helping create an experience that feels polished, calm, capable, and creatively charged.
Why this is special
Filmmakers Ranch is not trying to create another passive learning environment where people hover around the edges hoping something happens.
We are building a place where people make things.
A place where actors can leave with real scenes.
Where directors can practice their voice.
Where crew can build credits.
Where collaborators can meet in motion, not just in theory.
Where a monthly production rhythm creates confidence, relationships, and body of work over time.
This internship is a chance to be inside that process while it is being built.
It is for people who want more than a line on a résumé. It is for people who want reps, responsibility, real-world experience, creative momentum, relationships, and the satisfaction of helping good work get across the finish line.
You will not be stuck at the edges. You will be in it.
