    Pain Management Physician Assistant - San Jose, CA

    Compensation: $170K - $195K Annually DOE

    Employment Type: Full-time, Part-time, 1099

    ** Overview: Nexus HR is looking for an experienced** Physician Assistant ** to join our client’s established pain management practice in San Jose, CA.**

    About the Job

    The Physician Assistant in this role will manage a diverse patient population, including a high volume of workers’ compensation cases and Medicare patients. The position involves treating a wide variety of patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and pain disorders, providing diagnostic evaluations, and developing tailored treatment plans that combine medication management with alternative therapies. The practice is committed to expanding access to quality pain care while maintaining a patient-first approach.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.

    • Work under the direction of a fellowship-trained pain physician.

    • Consider and work toward a long-term plan for each patient while attending to immediate, visit-specific needs.

    • Interview and examine patients; review outside studies and medical histories.

    • Treating a wide variety of patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and pain disorders.

    • Interpret X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and other imaging.

    • Document patient care services on the day of service.

    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

    Qualifications:

    • 2 years or more of clinical experience in pain management

    • Graduate of an accredited PA program

    • Current and unrestricted PA license in California

    • National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

    • Active and unrestricted DEA license

    • Current BLS/CPR certification

    • Experience with workers’ compensation cases is required

    • Enrolled as a Medicare FFS provider

    • Competency in patient assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic pain.

    • Strong knowledge of evidence-based pain management guidelines and regulations

    • Excellent clinical, communication, and documentation skills
