About the Job
The Pain Management Physician Assistant will work within a collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to provide patient‑centered pain management services. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, performing physical examinations, administering treatments (including office‑based injections), managing pain therapies, monitoring patient progress, maintaining accurate medical records, and coordinating follow-up care. The practitioner will contribute to developing individualized care plans, ensure adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards, and participate in quality‑improvement efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under physician supervision.
Supports physician effectiveness by identifying short- and long-term patient care issues, providing relevant information, recommending options, and implementing directives.
Provides high-quality pain management to patients and their families.
Assesses patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and review of medical histories.
Documents patient care by accurately charting in patient and departmental records.
Ensures continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following established procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protects patients and staff by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements, anticipates changes in legislation, and advises management on necessary actions.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and participating in professional societies.
Supports the development of healthcare team staff through information sharing, educational opportunities, and experiential learning.
Qualifications :
Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Pain Management or comparable clinical experience.
Skilled in office-based injections (highly preferred).
Active DEA registration with Schedule III authority, free of restrictions.
Must have a current California Physician Assistant (PA-C) or NP license.
Authorized to work in the United States.
