Superior Metal Technologies is stable full-service aluminum metal finishing company, specializing in high-performance architectural coatings. We are located in the East side of Indianapolis.

We are currently seeking a Paint Racking Tech to join our Paint Department. Our paint department works on day shift typically a 10-hour shift on a Monday to Friday schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all Safety rules
• Follow company attendance policy
• Quality of work
• Work with all groups within the company
• Loading & unloading the product using the work instructions and work order
• Maintain acceptable production level set forth daily
• Reading & understanding work orders
• Review of prints for proper racking with exposure available for painter tech
• Identification of racking tooling, type of fasteners and proper usage
• Identification of good vs bad tooling
• Filling out color production sheet
• Helping paint unracking tech when needed
• Wiping and cleaning parts to remove any debris
• Cleaning and organization of hooks and racks
• Sanding and repair stick marks or minor defects

Job Physical & Skills:

• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to operate and inspect machinery and metal pieces
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weight more than 100lbs. to position metal objects to begin and finish treatment processes and/or prepare for shipping. (Help is provided)
• Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to position self to move metal objects for treatment or packing
• Specific vision abilities required for this job like close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. Must be able to detect slight differences in various finishes.
• Tolerate working in an environment that may be hot or cold depending on the season and will expose you to loud sounds, dust, fumes and solvents.
