Job Description:
- Prepares and paints surfaces by using sandpaper, sanding blocks and deglosser to scrape and clean surfaces, filling holes, cracks and joints with putty, plaster and other fillers, installing sheetrock, gathering the proper tools and paint to ensure proper bonding and using the spray painter machine when necessary.
- Performs maintenance duties by moving bumper logs, sweeping and picking up trash, power washing, assisting with sign installment, maintaining the paint room and setting up painting supplies for painters and maintenance workers.
- Purchases paint and equipment by monitoring inventory, contacting vendors to negotiate the best price and product and keeping a record of products and prices.
- Monitors paint projects by assisting youth with community service projects, directing maintenance curb and line projects, setting up scaffolding and ladders, maintaining equipment, scheduling work to be performed, prioritizing work orders, estimating materials and equipment requirements and completing assigned jobs.
- Makes safety preparations by inspecting ladders, tools, and painting areas and posting paint signs to notify patrons of work in progress.
- Refinishes wood surfaces and repairs masonry by staining, sealing, sanding and resealing cabinets, bookshelves, doors, counters and wood trims and replacing masonry and stucco surfaces.
This position is temporary and will only be for 4-6 weeks. This position also requires a valid driver's license.
Pay Rate: $18.00
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM
