    Job Summary:

    Growing, family-owned property management and development company, in business for more than 40 years with a large portfolio of historic buildings, is seeking an experienced Painter. Proficiency in drywall patching and spackling required. You will be preparing and performing professional interior AND exterior painting jobs in a residential and light commercial setting.

    You are an experienced residential and/or commercial painter who’s looking to be part of an energetic and effective team. You believe in a job done right and take pride in delivering a quality product. A positive attitude is a must!

    Responsibilities:

    Paint using a proper applicator (brush, roller, etc.) while utilizing proper painting techniques

    Interact professionally with residents and tenants, and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors regarding a specific project or job task.

    Identify proper materials and quantities for new and existing projects

    Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, or by other means necessary

    Mix, match, and blend various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains, and special protective coatings to achieve the desired color, consistency, and drying properties

    Use caulk, putty, cement, or plaster to repair holes and cracks

    Assess exterior building damage (weathering/rot) and determine proper methods for repair.

    Ability to perform light carpentry and use hand tools to repair exterior damage.

    Glazing in new glass panes to repair broken windows.

    Inspect paint jobs for quality

    Perform daily maintenance routines on painting equipment

    Qualifications:

    Previous experience in residential or commercial painting and/or remodeling/home repair

    Take personal responsibility for yourself and pride in a job well done

    Enjoy using your problem solving skills and learn new things quickly

    Multi-task with a positive attitude

    Be able to work individually as well as within a team environment

    Be flexible, dedicated, detail-oriented and personable while working in a fast paced environment

    Have the ability to pass a pre-employment screening and background check

    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to commute between job sites

    Strong communication and customer service skills

    Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs of equipment
