Position Overview
The Painter at Carneros Resort and Spa is responsible for maintaining the resort’s luxury aesthetic by performing high-quality painting, finishing, and surface preparation. This role ensures that all painted surfaces, including guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior structures, meet the resort’s premium standards. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, knowledge of paint applications, and experience working in a hospitality or high-end property setting.
Key Responsibilities
Painting & Finishing
- Perform interior and exterior painting of guest accommodations, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring a polished appearance.
- Perform drywall patching, sanding, and surface preparation to achieve a flawless finish.
- Use spray painting, rolling, and brushing techniques as needed for different applications.
Maintenance & Repair
- Inspect painted surfaces regularly and perform touch-ups as necessary.
- Repair wall imperfections, such as cracks, holes, and water damage, before painting.
- Assist with refinishing furniture, fixtures, and wood surfaces to maintain a pristine look.
Safety & Compliance
- Use and store painting materials in compliance with safety regulations and resort policies.
- Ensure proper ventilation and protective measures while working in occupied areas.
- Keep a clean and organized workspace, disposing of hazardous materials properly.
Collaboration & Efficiency
- Work closely with the Engineering and Maintenance teams to complete projects on time.
- Assist with resort-wide refurbishments and renovations as needed.
- Maintain an inventory of painting supplies and ensure timely ordering of materials.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in professional painting, finishing, or surface preparation.
- Knowledge of different paint types, applications, and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, lift heavy materials, and work in various conditions.
- Experience in a hospitality or luxury resort setting is a plus.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
