The Role

T

The Painter at Found Rental Co. is a hands-on artisan responsible for painting, staining, refinishing, and repairing furniture and décor to Found’s premium quality standards. This role plays a critical part in preserving the beauty, durability, and presentation of our one-of-a-kind inventory.

Working closely with our craftsmen, the Painters at Found ensures every piece is finished with care, precision, and consistency. This role is ideal for a detail-driven finisher who takes pride in beautiful work, thrives in an organized workshop environment, and is passionate about craftsmanship.

Key responsibilities:

PAINTING, REFINISHING & REPAIRS

• Paint, stain, and refinish furniture and décor made from wood, metal, and mixed materials
• Perform touch-ups and repairs to maintain the appearance and extend the life of inventory
• Prepare surfaces for finishing, including sanding, cleaning, filling, and priming
• Mix and match paints, stains, and finishes to achieve accurate colors and textures
• Apply finishing techniques that meet Found’s quality and aesthetic standards

WORKSHOP OPERATIONS

• Collaborate closely with craftsmen to complete projects efficiently and to specificationSafely and effectively operate painting and finishing tools and equipment
• Follow all finishing processes, quality standards, and production timelines

ORGANIZATION & SAFETY

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all painting and finishing areas
• Follow safety protocols when working with paints, chemicals, and equipment
• Support overall Fab Lab organization and workflow
• Properly store materials, tools, and works-in-progress

Qualifications

• Proven experience in painting, staining, refinishing, or furniture finishing
• Strong understanding of finishing materials, tools, and techniques
• Exceptional attention to detail and pride in craftsmanshipAbility to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standardsStrong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
