Title: Industrial Painter
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with potential for 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM for overtime)
Salary: $17 - $27 per hour, depending on experience
Who we are:
Our client is a rapidly expanding, privately held manufacturing company in Solon, OH. Due to significant growth and increasing demand for their products, they are seeking dedicated production staff to join their team as direct hires, contributing to their continued success and commitment to quality.
Painter Role:
This role is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing industrial parts to high-quality standards, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and contributing to overall production efficiency, with responsibilities varying based on experience level.
Painter Responsibilities:
Follow health and safety policies.
Wear required safety equipment that complies with tasks being performed.
Fill out required daily time sheets and work orders.
Read and interpret blueprints/drawings to determine finish requirements regarding masking of non-painted surfaces.
Clean parts prior to painting, which may include chemical cleaning and/or power wash cleaning.
Mask part surfaces for areas to be isolated through the use of masking tape and other controlled methods.
Hang parts on the paint line as directed.
Sand parts prior to painting as required.
Remove painted parts from the paint line and de-mask if needed, then move parts to assembly or shipping.
Clean and maintain spray equipment, pressure pots, spray guns, paint booth, and paint/chemical storage areas.
Inspect painted finishes for defects such as runs, sags, orange peel, and improper surface finishes.
Painter Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Supervisor and may give daily work assignments to other departmental helpers.
About You:
High School Diploma, Technical Trade School certification, or GED required.
Have zero to five years of industrial paint prepping and/or industrial painting experience.
Knowledgeable in the safe handling and disposal of various regulated materials used in a painting process.
Knowledgeable in calculating and tracking daily Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) to comply with EPA requirements.
Able to properly mix paint per drawing specifications without assistance.
Able to paint products and repair defective paint areas without assistance.
Able to inspect painted surfaces and identify paint defects.
Able to meet required paint run standards.
Committed to maintaining a daily labor efficiency of 85% or higher.
