Palm Beach Tan is one of the nation’s largest chains of tanning salons, with over 200 corporate-owned stores in 13+ states and over 200 franchise locations nationwide. We are currently seeking an experienced Benefits/HR professional to support our corporate locations. This position is located at our corporate office in Coppell, TX.
This position will be responsible for various tasks within the Human Resources Department. Primary duties include answering employee questions, data entry into HR systems, and administering benefit and leave plans.
Responsibilities:
Respond to employee inquiries related to employment
Input and update employment data into Ultimate Software; working closely with Payroll
Manages unemployment claims process
Monitors the criminal background check process and evaluates candidates’ background information; complying with FCRA requirements
Complete annual EEOC reporting
Benefits administration including compliance with Affordable Care Act
Manages annual and ongoing benefit enrollment process
Administration of FMLA and other leaves
Reporting of workers compensation injuries as needed
Assists V.P. of People Department with special projects as needed
Requirements:
3-5 years of HR and Benefits experience preferably in a multi-unit environment (retail/food service experience a plus)
2 years college degree or equivalent; PHR or SHRM certification a plus
1-3 years with processing employee leaves with a great understanding of the interaction of ADA, FMLA, etc.
1 year experience with PPACA
Experience with Ultimate Software preferred
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills are necessary
Prior exposure to working with Payroll helpful
This position requires solid knowledge of employment laws (federal and state) and general human resources practices
