    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce is searching for a dynamic, growth-oriented leader to serve as its President/CEO. This position is responsible for all aspects of daily Chamber operations, including effectively leading and re-energizing the organization, supporting positive member relations, building and nurturing a team staff environment, strong fiscal oversight of all aspects of the organization and building community relations including a vital relationship with the City Of Palm Desert. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors and the Executive Board.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate the strongest commitment to strategic and visionary planning focused on the evolving retail business sector, new media technologies, and the future place of a Chamber of Commerce as a vital part of the business community.

    CORE COMPETENCIES:

    A proven track record of excellence in leadership, team development, collaboration, talent management and development and customer service skills

    A strong command of operational accounting including the understanding of and use of balance sheets and profit and loss statements, the ability to create and manage budgets and an understanding of accounts payable and receivable

    The ability to engage in and enhance the synergies between business, community, and government

    An unmatched ability to retain and support current membership, and strong commitment to new member growth

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s Degree strongly desired; will consider comparable experience

    3-5 years of business management experience or non-profit/fundraising experience highly valued

    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

    Professional appearance and demeanor

    Ability and flexibility to travel locally and attend after-hour events

    COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

    PDACC's policy is to be competitive with all relevant positions in its geographic area and to attract and maintain the highest quality individual(s) for our team. Salary range is $80,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications; bonus based on stated metrics. Benefits include, but are not necessarily limited to: Health Care Plan, Approved Professional Development Reimbursement, Paid Holidays, 401(k)
