Palmer Group is currently assisting a well-established and highly respected organization in Central Iowa in their search for a Systems Engineer II. As a key member of the company’s high functioning, and highly collaborative Systems team, the System Engineer II will be an individual contributor to assist in developing groundbreaking technology and advanced control systems for various applications. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8+ years of experience in controls design, developing control systems, ability to mentor, leading system integration, root cause analysis, Matlab/Simulink, SYSML, and J1939 protocols. Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain control systems for various applications
• Lead system integration efforts across various engineering disciplines
• Mentor and train junior engineers on controls design and system integration
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve system issues
• Develop and maintain system requirements and design documentation
• Utilize Matlab/Simulink and SYSML tools to model and simulate control systems
• Understand and work with J1939 protocols for communication between electronic systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project completion
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to control systems engineering

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 8+ years of experience in controls design and developing control systems
• Ability to mentor and lead system integration efforts
• Experience with root cause analysis
• Strong knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and SYSML
• Familiarity with J1939 protocols for communication between electronic systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
