    YOUR CAREER

    As a software engineer intern you will get the possibility to learn a new programming language (Golang) which has proven to become the industry standard for cloud technologies. You will put your existing knowledge about safe and secure software development to the test and help in hardening a software component which is being installed on thousands of servers in customer environments.

    YOUR IMPACT

    You will be making a significant impact to our team by:

    • refactoring and hardening existing code on a customer installed agent component (in Golang)

    • adding unit tests to existing code to increase code coverage

    • as identified communicate logic and code problems to your peers

    • see problems through end-to-end: discuss issues with your peers, refactor/harden code, add/refactor unit or integration tests, collaborate with our QA team to ensure no regressions

    • overall helping in an effort to improve the reliability and stability of a component that is being installed on thousands of servers in customer environments

  • Qualifications

    YOUR EXPERIENCE

    • Developing and testing software in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Python, Ruby, Java

    • understanding the concepts and aspects of functional programming languages (recursive functions, closures, currying, side-effects, etc.)

    • the ambition to learn a new programming language: Golang - all work is and will be done in Golang

    • familiarity with different development and testing practices: TDD, BDD, etc.

    • good understanding of networking, networking protocols: IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc.

    • good understanding of Linux or Windows operating system internals is a plus

    • good understanding of container technologies (Kubernetes, docker, containerd) is a plus

    Requirements – To apply, you must be pursuing a 4-year Undergraduate Degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above, a 2-year Master’s Degree or a Doctorate degree and returning to school in the fall. You must have the authorization to work within the United States.
