    Job Description

YOUR CAREER We’re looking for an empathetic Engineering Manager to lead a growing feature team at Xpanse, the newest member of Palo Alto Networks Cortex.

Our mission is to find risks online and protect the world’s largest organizations from malicious software and hackers. Xpanse’s Internet intelligence platform collects petabytes of Internet data and delivers those insights via our core security product.

In this role, you will lead a feature team that builds and delivers customer-facing product lines. The engineers on your team are driven by both our overarching mission of making the Internet a safer place for customers and by the opportunity to build a seamless data-rich product experience for users. You don't need to have worked directly in our industry to be successful. We’re looking for managers who have a strong technical foundation and a keen interest in learning.

    YOUR IMPACT

    • Lead with empathy; support, coach, and develop engineers
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to define the vision and roadmap for your team; we’re looking for a manager who can hold high standards whilst still being intensely pragmatic
    • Stay apprised of critical business needs and help us continue to scale; balance resources and projects accordingly
    • Help grow the team; anticipate future needs and execute on a recruiting strategy
  • Qualifications

    YOUR EXPERIENCE

    • Experience managing software engineers, providing them with thoughtful feedback and with the resources they need to be successful
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
    • Strong distributed systems and architecture knowledge, including what it takes to deploy and maintain such systems
    • Deep understanding of Agile development and how it pertains to all aspects of development: design, coding, quality, deployment; equally strong understanding of what to do when Agile doesn't work
    • Startup experience and/or a demonstrated ability to adapt to a dynamic and growing technical environment
