    Palo Alto Networks is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join its R&D and DevOps Finance team. We’re looking for a self-starter with strong analytical skills, an effective communicator, and a leader passionate for driving change in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

    In this role, you will work with executive business partners in Product and Engineering to help drive strategic decision-making, provide financial insight, and build operational rigor and efficiency. You will own the financial planning, forecasting and reporting for these teams and provide recommendations to your business partners within these key functional areas. You will also be responsible for key financial deliverables and ad hoc analyses including month-end close.

    YOUR IMPACT 

    • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for Various product teams in R&D and DevOps

    • Lead the consolidations of various reporting packages across R&D such as headcount dashboard, month end commentary and forecast commentary plus monthly forecast and planning reports.

    • Develop an in-depth understanding of key business drivers of the R&D functions in order to communicate how these drivers impact the strategic and financial future of the company

    • Develop deep understanding of Software Capitalization model and reporting.

    • Develop deep understanding of the hardware business lifecycle around areas such as ASIC Development, Hardware Chasis build and Product Certifications.

    • Help define and implement scalable financial processes related to month-end and quarter-end close, including business drivers and reporting

    • Provide advanced analytics and develop new processes and tools to deliver impactful and actionable insights that drive decision making

    • Build, manage and maintain various financial models for headcount and spend.

    • Create self-serve dashboards, for headcount and spend.

    YOUR EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor degree in Economics/Finance, MBA from top tier institution or equivalent-experience preferred

    • 7-10 years related experience showing strong career progression; prior R&D / Product Finance experience strongly preferred

    • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills, with understanding of software, appliances and/or internet industry business models

    • Capable of seamlessly moving from the big picture to the details and back. Effective presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex topics in a distilled manner

    • Strong team player, and independent thinker, with high intellectual and emotional intelligence

    • Deadline-driven, organized, and able to multi-task with the willingness to adapt to the rapid business and organizational demands that result from a high-growth environment

    • Experience with and/or a willingness to master various financial systems, including SAP, BPC, Tableau, and other BI tools
