Primary Objective of Position: This position is responsible for following work instructions to build, modify, and package manufactured parts per customer requirements and quality guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Follow harness shop assembly instructions, processes and procedures. - Follow the targets and deadlines for assembling process. - Follow all safety requirements per company policy and CAL-OSHA regulations. - Follow ISO/TS procedures and company objectives. - Conduct product testing according to testing requirements and guidelines. - Perform equipment change-overs. - Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on shop machinery. - Provide on-the-job training to new employees. - Clean and maintain work area. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Requirements: - Must be certified as an IPC/WHMA 620 Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) within 60 days of becoming a harness shop assembler. - Minimum of 3 months experience in production/assembly environment. - Strong communication skills - Must have a strong sense of urgency regarding customer needs. - Critical thinking and problem solving skills - Planning and organization - Work with minimal supervision. - Read calipers, blue prints, and wiring schematics. - Self-starter and team player. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - This position requires standing for 8+ hours a day on a cement floor unless performing certain functions like soldering and wire wrapping. - Lift product from ground floor level and place on production rack or conveyor approximately 32" high, and stretch about 2' across the conveyer while performing the functions of the job. - Lift up to 50 pounds. - Must be able to read and follow instructions, distinguish colors or wiring, and able to hear sound while testing or reading the meters.
