    Powergen Controls is an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in custom power generation and electrical control solutions. We design and build low-voltage switchboards, control panels, and related systems for customers across a variety of industries.

We are looking for a dependable, skilled Panel Assembler who takes pride in their work, works well as part of a team, and understands the importance of building equipment correctly and safely.

    Position Summary

    The Panel Assembler is responsible for fitting, assembling, wiring, and completing low-voltage switchboards, control panels, and related electrical equipment. This position requires the ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics and use those documents to accurately assemble and wire control panels.

    This is a hands-on position requiring mechanical ability, attention to detail, manual dexterity, and experience using hand and power tools.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Read and interpret assembly drawings, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, work orders, and other production documentation.

    Pull required parts and components from inventory based on project requirements.

    Lay out components on control panel backplates according to drawings and specifications.

    Drill and tap backplates for mounting components.

    Lay out control panel doors and determine proper placement of operators and components.

    Drill and punch panel doors as required for mounting switches, indicators, operators, and other devices.

    Mount and assemble electrical and electromechanical components.

    Wire control panels according to wiring diagrams and schematics.

    Assemble cables, connectors, housings, and subassemblies.

    Perform crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, soldering, press-fitting, and similar assembly operations as required.

    Properly label panels, wires, components, and assemblies.

    Perform testing and visual inspections to verify that completed work meets drawings, specifications, and Company quality standards.

    Identify and report discrepancies, missing components, drawing issues, or quality concerns.

    Maintain an organized and safe work area.

    Complete required production paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.

    Properly use and care for Company tools and equipment.

    Follow Company safety procedures and requirements.

    Assist with other production and project-related duties as needed.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    Previous experience building electrical control panels, switchboards, or similar electrical equipment.

    Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and mechanical drawings.

    Ability to follow wiring diagrams to accurately wire control panel components.

    Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure, ruler, and other measuring devices.

    Experience using common hand and power tools.

    Ability to drill, tap, punch, cut, and perform other basic fabrication and assembly operations.

    Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

    Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

    Ability to work independently when appropriate while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

    Ability to organize work and complete assigned tasks within project deadlines.

    Dependable attendance and punctuality.

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to lift and move materials, components, and panels weighing up to 50 pounds.

    Ability to stand, bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements during the workday.

    Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and production equipment required for the position.
