    The primary focus of this role is to execute daily back of house responsibilities with a strong commitment to hospitality and service.

    Pangloss Cellars was founded on the belief that the consumer experience is as important as the wines themselves. You will be working in our historic building on the Sonoma Plaza dating back to 1902 – the home of our Pangloss Cellars Tasting Lounge and new outdoor Tasting Terrace. These spaces both define Pangloss Cellars and embody our core values: it is welcoming, authentic, optimistic, community focused and social – a warm and beautiful historic place to enjoy the sensory experience of fine wine. With over 4,000 square feet of indoor space as well as 1,500 square feet outdoors we are able to offer a variety of different experiences. Our team is dynamic and united by a shared mission.     Responsibilities:

    Maintain the kitchen and related areas in a clean and organized manor

    Keep dishes and stemware clean, polished, restocked and in order

    Actively maintain a thorough knowledge of menus and kitchen functions

    Prepare the lounge for guests daily

    Setup and breakdown of private tastings in our member rooms

    Maintain kitchen supply inventory, tools and equipment including storage areas

    Keep product clearly labeled, dated and rotated

    Foster relationships with vendors

    Assist with food prep, plating and service per the current menu and instruction

    Work with supervisor to look for ways to decrease waste and increase efficiency

    Look for ways to contribute, take on additional items and special projects as assigned including seasonal menus and events

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma, culinary school preferred

    Maintain food safety certificate (obtain within 30 days of hire)

    Culinary/hospitality experience preferred

    Able and willing to follow directions and communicate effectively

    Basic data comprehension, able to read, write and follow involved directions and recipes

    Proficient with knife skills, knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety, general organization

    Trustworthy, reliable, solid work ethic/attitude, able to successfully navigate company culture

    Driver’s license strongly recommended

    Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
