The Print/Production Assistant position plays an integral role at Paper Daisies Stationery (PDS). They are the last person who approves the final product before it's placed into the client's hands. The role is versatile and involves being the right hand to our Fulfillment Manager. The production team's day involves prepping materials for our print vendors & receiving printed goods from them, tying ribbon, lining envelopes, running a die cutter, drill press, hydraulic cutter, & cricut maker, counting and permforming quality control checks, and stocking inventory. This person helps ensure jobs are getting out the door in a timely manner and helps coordinate the daily tasks for the production team as well as the production contractors. This person has the last look on our products before they go out the door so must be reliable, detail-oriented, and trustworthy with an appreciation for the importance of quality control. This role provides hands-on learning of PDS products, materials, and processes required to produce wedding stationery.
Responsibilities | Print/Production Assistant
• Pulling and prepping materials (including cutting paper) to match requirements for jobs going to outsourced vendors
• Receiving printed materials, performing a quick QC check, and storing/organizing for QC/Production/Packaging
• Utilizing machinery for finishing and production (including, but not limited to, scoring machine, drill, die cutter, ribbon cutter, paper cutter (manual & hydraulic), corner rounder, and various hand tools)
• Taking inventory of stocked materials
• Receiving, stocking and organizing orders of materials
• Assisting with in-house printing (sending jobs to printers, running paper/envelopes through printers)
• Setting up couriers, picking up/dropping off to local vendors
• Ensuring all finished products match cubby card and basecamp specifications
• Adhering to due dates set per job according to PDS timing structure
• Checking the quality of our product before packaging the goods (including, but not limited to, misspellings, spacing, missing information, etiquette, smudges and smears from printers, color inconsistency and accuracy, and defects in paper)
• Checking computer calligraphy, Escort/Place-cards (including, but not limited to, correctness, spacing, missing information and/or punctuation, and uniformity of abbreviations)
• Assisting with hands-on production (including, but not limited to, envelope lining, tying ribbon and twine, matting, folding, assembling, stuffing, stamping and sealing, and wax seals)
• Matting and framing posters, placing vinyl on large displays, die cutting with cricut machine
• Packaging finished products according to PDS procedures and mailing when needed
• Prepping and maintaining quality of rental items, performing maintenance when needed
