Immediate opportunity for a talented addition to join our Chicago healthcare team. We are searching for a Construction Project Manager responsible for managing assigned construction projects from beginning to end including, but not limited to, establishing project budgets, preparing lump sum bids, attending client meetings and closing out projects within an approved project budget and timeline. This may include Design and Procurement, but would focus on the overview of the General Contractor and the immediate construction of the project, as well as maintain the construction schedule. This position is client facing and would be the direct contact as the highest ranking onsite Owners Representative with an emphasis on ensuring Schedule, Cost, Scope and Safety. This position will require flexibility to travel 50% of the time.
Responsible for overall project delivery (cost, schedule, quality, information, contracts) on multiple project assignments
Construction focus - plan, coordinate, and oversee employees and subcontractors in all phases of work
Read and manage blue prints
Responsible for projects up to $500K
Understand and adhere to local building codes and regulatory agencies
Supervise multiple crews simultaneously on multiple projects
Manages all budgets, schedules, scope development, design and construction contracts, documents, procedures and controls for assigned projects
Attends assigned meetings to cover weekly job progress meetings; issues meeting minutes during design
Resolves complex construction related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
Review daily requirements of the projects, document progress and notify managers of progress and challenges
Provide appropriate field documentation, photo logs, graphs and sketches for various projects
Become proficient qualifying vendors and subcontractors including guiding them through vendor qualification process
Required Skills
Required Experience
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline or Construction Management preferred
Experience as a Project Manager in an Engineering, Environmental or Construction environment
5 years of experience in a project related technical field preferred
Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building required
