POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a talented, creative and energized individual to join our firm as a Systems Engineer. This is a multi-platform engineering position focused on Networking, Windows and Linux. This position may be located in either Chicago, IL or Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·Managing a global network infrastructure running on primarily Cisco hardware
·Managing an integrated Windows and Linux environment
·Managing systems using modern scripting languages and command lines
·Automating deployment and management of systems (winops/devops)
·Being available as part of a 24×7 on-call team
Qualifications:
·BA/BS/Associate degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience/certification
·2+ years of experience administering Networks
·3+ years of experience administering mixed Windows/Linux environments
·Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, python, and bash
·Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, etc.)
·Understanding and implementation experience of modern security practices and guidelines
·Can-do attitude, defaulting to “yes, we will figure out a way”
·Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills
·Ability to make independent judgment calls to resolve urgent and critical matters
·Ability to troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of systems problems
·A drive to not rest until problems are resolved
·Strong desire for automation
