RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Support Engineering Manager leads the Project manager group for Paragon Water. This individual possesses competence across all major water treatment technologies, and across engineering disciplines. Able to provide leadership on all product development projects, as well as intensely specialized and innovative technology development areas. This role reports to the Engineering director, but functions independently.

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTION:

• Develop and implement engineering resource allocation and project plans to deliver projects & products that meet schedule, budgetary, performance and cost commitments.
• Develop and manage project and expense budgets
• Manage Paragon Engineering PLM (Product Life Cycle Managemnt) tool, Document control and provide support to all global locations
• Independently take on and manage development projects
• Ensure robust product or system level design validation test plans are developed and executed
• Independently analyze and resolve complex design problems, and lead others to do the same.
• Provide technical guidance across all of the company’s product lines & technologies
• Possess a comprehensive knowledge of all applicable regulatory standards, and ensure new products meet regulatory requirements
• Take part in industry functions that benefit Paragon and the water treatement industry, such as particpation in the development of new regulatory standards or committee representation
• Interface with other departments to ensure collective cross-functional effort and teamwork
• Interface with the manufacturing and quality support activities for our low-cost-country suppliers including: NPD tooling, pilot runs, QA/QC, re-work programs, vendor regulatory qualifications, etc.
• Promote an environment of continuous improvement within the department, improving or developing new processes as needed.
• Stay abreast of industry and technology developments. Identify and vet new innovative or breakthrough technologies for integration to the technology roadmap and use in future products
• Interface with the manufacturing and quality support activities for our low-cost-country suppliers including: NPD tooling, pilot runs, QA/QC, re-work programs, vendor regulatory qualifications, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (MS Eng. or MBA, and DFSS accreditation strongly desired)
• 8+ years’ experience in engineering product development including, with at least 4 years in the water treatment industry, and 2 years managing people directly or indirectly.
• Experience providing technical leadership across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience developing and managing engineering project budgets & teams.
• Experience preparing & presenting technical briefs at the executive level.
• Able to demonstrate a high degree of foresight and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive development projects.
• Up to 20% travel
