We don't do "good enough." At Adelante Legal Services, we're a remote-first family law firm serving New Mexico families through some of the hardest moments of their lives. Built on 23+ years of family law experience and designed for the modern era, we believe families deserve better than what family law usually delivers. Our mission is to empower people through exceptional representation, education, and support that strengthen and protect their families during times of change. We're looking for a paralegal who thinks, not just processes. Someone who identifies the key legal issues in a case, asks whether the evidence actually proves what needs to be proven, and moves cases forward without waiting to be told the next step. We use technology aggressively, document everything, and hold ourselves to a standard most firms in our market don't bother with. If you care deeply about clients, take ownership of your work, and want your effort to actually matter, keep reading. Responsibilities: • Identify the key legal issues in each case from the start, and analyze whether the available evidence actually supports what needs to be proven at the hearing or trial • Partner with the managing attorney to develop and implement a case strategy, bringing your own analysis and recommendations to the table • Strategically gather facts, documents, and evidence from clients, opposing parties, and third-party sources to build the strongest possible case • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, communicating clearly, answering questions, and providing compassionate support to families during difficult transitions • Prepare court-ready exhibits, pleadings, and case materials, including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, affidavits, and trial notebooks, under the supervision of the managing attorney • Move cases forward proactively by tracking deadlines, coordinating next steps, and keeping matters progressing without delay Qualifications: • 3+ years of substantive paralegal experience, with direct experience in both family law and litigation • Genuinely enjoys the analytical and strategic work of building a case, identifying key legal issues, evaluating evidence against what needs to be proven, not just executing the tasks around it • Paralegal certificate or degree required, or 5+ years of substantive paralegal experience demonstrating equivalent competence • Comfortable adopting new technology aggressively, including AI tools, as a core part of daily work • Clear, precise communication, whether talking to clients, instructing AI, or writing for the court • Strong ability to work independently in a fully remote, digital-first environment • Exceptional attention to detail, recognizing that family law work has real consequences for real families • Takes ownership of outcomes, not just tasks, following through until matters are resolved Compensation: $80,000 - $114,000 per year
