Job Summary: The Paralegal Assistant provides administrative and research support to the legal team, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective case management. This role is responsible for assisting with document preparation, legal research, file organization, and coordination of schedules. This role works closely with paralegals to maintain accurate records, facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders, and support the overall efficiency of the department.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Administrative
* Assist with maintaining and organizing case files, evidence, and client records, both electronically and physically.
* Perform data entry, filing, and document management.
- Case Management
* Set up claims with auto insurance and health insurance companies.
* Call providers to obtain balances and confirm health insurance.
* Request and manage medical records and bills, accident reports, and other relevant documents.
* Monitor progress of client medical treatment.
* Track case progress and ensure deadlines are met.
- Legal Document Preparation
* Draft various documents including memos or other legal documents.
* Assist with the preparation of demand packages including letters and correspondence.
- Client Communication & Support
* Serve as a liaison between providers and paralegals to obtain client information.
* Communicate with clients to collect and provide information.
- Legal Research & Analysis
- Conduct legal research to support case development.
- Litigation Preparation & Support
* Assist paralegals with trial preparation including visual aids such as demonstrative evidence, posters for jury instructions, enlarged photos, etc.
* Schedule depositions, court appearances, court reporters and client meetings.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certificate preferred
- At least 1 year of legal field experience or industry equivalent preferred
