    An established and highly regarded law firm in West Hartford, CT is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to join their growing team. The firm has a strong reputation in the area and a staff of 15 professionals. While the firm practices in several areas of law, this position will focus exclusively on supporting their expanding bankruptcy practice.

    The Bankruptcy Paralegal will play a key role in assisting attorneys with case management, document preparation, client communication, and filing procedures for both consumer and business bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will have prior, hands-on experience working within bankruptcy law and a solid understanding of related court filings and procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare, review, and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and related documents (Chapters 7, 11, and/or 13)
    • Draft correspondence, pleadings, and motions for attorney review
    • Manage case calendars, deadlines, and filings through CM/ECF and PACER
    • Conduct client intake and maintain communication throughout the case process
    • Organize and manage case files and supporting documentation
    • Assist attorneys during hearings, meetings, and case updates
    • Collaborate closely with attorneys and other paralegals across practice areas

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Bankruptcy Paralegal
    • Strong understanding of bankruptcy procedures, forms, and court systems
    • Proficiency with CM/ECF, PACER, and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • Salary: $60,000 – $90,000+, commensurate with experience
