Job Summary We are seeking a full-time paralegal. Practice areas include family law in Michigan and Ohio. Responsibilities include preparation of legal documents and correspondence, transcribing dictations, scheduling and keeping attorney calendars, communicating with potential clients, opposing counsel and court personnel. PC proficiency and the ability to multi-task, proofread, organize and work in a fast-paced environment is a plus
Responsibilities
Correspond with courts, clients, attorneys and other entities involved in the case
Understanding of accessing court dockets, filing systems and court forms
Organize files electronic in our system and physical files kept in office
Handle scheduling court dates, mediations, dispositions and deadlines
Dictation
Manage emails, mail and other correspondence
Efile and eservice of documents in efile counties
Learn and accurately apply Michigan court rules regarding the filing and service of all court documents and discovery documents
Receive and organize large volumes of information and records for both electronic and paper storage
Qualifications
Previous experience as a paralegal or in a legal administrative role
Strong knowledge of family law.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
