    Location - Uniondale, NY

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal / Legal Assistant with at least 3 years of experience in defense litigation to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys handling a high-volume caseload of complex civil litigation matters. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of litigation procedures, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare, draft, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, discovery, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence

    • File legal documents with state and federal courts, both electronically (e-filing) and in-person as needed

    • Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling court dates, depositions, and client meetings

    • Maintain case files, track deadlines, and manage document production

    • Coordinate discovery processes, including document collection, organization, and review

    • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel

    • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks

    • Ensure attorneys are well-prepared and equipped with necessary materials for hearings and meetings

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in defense litigation

    • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and e-filing systems (state and federal)

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team

    • Associate’s degree or equivalent legal administrative training preferred

    • Experience with insurance defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, or general civil litigation
