    We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft legal documents such as affidavits, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. Responsibilities: • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer • Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers • Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses • Take care of administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system for all legal documents • Manage your time to ensure that billable hour targets (120 per month) are met or exceeded • Communicate with clients, experts, and other parties to provide updates and gather information; answer basic questions about the status of the case • Monitor case progress, deadlines, and important time frames/milestones • Draft documents, indexes, and chronologies; prepare marital settlement agreements; draft pleadings, motions, and court documents; fill out legal forms; write reports, etc. • Help attorneys prepare cases for mediations/hearings/trials • Manage discovery: prepare and organize discovery and responses to discovery demands • Research laws and judicial decisions about current as well as past cases • Assist attorneys in the courtroom as needed • Enter billable and non-billable time in the case management system contemporaneously Qualifications: • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills • Strong oral and written communication skills • Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired • At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting • Strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education • A Paralegal will have completed a course of study offered by a college or university, especially for Paralegals, and will possess a certification as a trained Paralegal • A Paralegal should have experience in a law firm. Experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant is especially pertinent, and candidates with this background will be given preference Additionally, you must possess the following skills: • Ability to multitask • Excellent communication skills, both oral and in writing • People Skills/Customer Service—A Legal Assistant should have excellent people skills with the confidence to address initial client complaints and soothe angry clients • Excellent Organizational Skills • Time Management • Ability to work in a team with Legal Assistants and Attorneys Compensation: $64,000 - $90,000 yearly based on experience
