  • Responsibilities

    We are a boutique law firm based in Oakland, California (with offices in Los Angeles and Sacramento) with dynamic and interesting federal white collar, antitrust, civil, and criminal practices. We seek a motivated and detail-oriented candidate with strong problem-solving skills who works well both independently and with others.

    The position requires, among other skills, the following:

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, PACER, Westlaw, Lexis, and the Blue Book
    • Significant experience with federal and state rules and filing procedures and the ability to handle large, complicated filings
    • Ability to interact with clients
    • Familiarity with eDiscovery software (Relativity, Reveal, etc.) as user and administrator
    • Ability to organize and analyze discovery, as well as prepare discovery productions in criminal and civil state and federal cases

    Responsibilities also include administrative tasks, including:

    • Maintaining hard copy and electronic document files, including archiving and coordination of offsite file storage
    • Assisting with scheduling, client billing, and making travel arrangements
    • Maintaining attorney calendars
    • Helping prepare engagement letters
    • Creating and formatting pleading documents and correspondence using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, including cite checking and proofreading
    • Attending and documenting meetings with clients or counsel
    • Processing mail and purchasing office supplies

    Education: 2+ Years of College and/or Paralegal Certificate
    Experience: 4-5+ years relevant experience handling complex litigation tasks as a law firm Paralegal or in comparable government service
    Salary: $100,000 to $125,000 depending on experience
