    Job Description

    This position will assist the HomeVestors in-house legal team with a variety of projects and activities across multiple legal and business subjects. The Paralegal/Legal Project Assistant will play a vital role on the in-house legal team with contract preparation and brand compliance activities.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    Working in the Legal Department and reporting to HomeVestors’ in-house attorneys, the Paralegal/Legal Project Assistant will assist with a wide variety projects and tasks for the company’s in-house attorneys, paralegal colleagues, and brand compliance auditors. These tasks may include:

    • Drafting and revising contracts and other legal documents;

    • Communicating with HomeVestors’ franchisees, employees in other business units, and outside parties;

    • Research and investigations relating to brand compliance;

    • Monitoring deadlines to ensure they are met; and

    • Other tasks assigned on an ad hoc basis.

    In addition to working closely with the team in the Legal Department, the Legal Project Assistant will be in regular communication with teammates across the corporate office and franchise system.

    The position is located in Dallas at the HomeVestors corporate office. HomeVestors’ offers a hybrid work environment with two in-office days a week for employees, and the opportunity for occasional travel to company events.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors or Associates degree preferred but not required

    • Experience working in a corporate office setting is required, and experience in a law firm or corporate compliance or legal department is preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies

    • Experience drafting contract documents

    • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communications

    • Deadline driven with high accountability level and attention to detail

    • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others and work on a team

    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle a variety of tasks

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
