We are looking for an experienced case manager/paralegal who will work in the pre-suit management of injury claims. You’ll be responsible for managing and coordinating with clients and will have a pre-suit caseload. You will be a point of contact with clients and be responsible for gathering all pertinent file materials, demand preparation, medical chronologies, client updates, and general file management and upkeep. You will also assist with other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently and effectively for clients. Responsibilities: • Initial data entry for new files and organization of file materials. • Communicating with insurance companies and obtaining coverage information. • Scheduling meetings and appointments for the team and the clients, and coordinating with outside vendors. • Gathering pertinent information and documentation related to the incident, injuries, and potential liabilities. • Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies for pre-suit negotiations and settlements. • Collect medical records, police reports, and other relevant documents crucial to case development and maintaining file organization. • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case progress, ensuring compliance with recommended treatment plans, and addressing inquiries. • Maintaining regular communication to ensure clients are informed and supported throughout the presuit process. • Coordinate investigations, including obtaining evidence, witness statements, and expert opinions, if necessary. • Ensure all relevant evidence is collected and preserved to strengthen cases during negotiations. • Facilitate medical appointments, treatment, and follow-ups for clients to support their recovery. • Work closely with medical providers to gather and organize medical records and billing information. • Prepare demand packages outlining the client's losses, damages, and legal arguments for settlement for attorney approval. • Maintain accurate and updated case files, including documenting all communications and case-related activities. • Ensure compliance with legal and firm-specific procedures. • Preparing closing statements and performing billing and lien negotiations, and reductions. • Performing Medicare/Medicaid/Lien holder reporting and lien negotiations. • Any other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently and effectively for clients. Qualifications: • Associate’s degree or some college is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is necessary. • 3 years minimum prior experience as a case manager or paralegal in a personal injury firm. • Organizational skills and communication skills are very necessary for this position. • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products, case management software, Outlook, and Adobe. Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 yearly
