A busy, growing Elder Law firm is looking for a full-time, experienced litigation paralegal to add to our dynamic team. Under the supervision of an attorney, the selected candidate will be primarily responsible for our incompetency, guardianship, and other litigation cases and will be trained to assist in other practice areas within the firm. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and incredible organization and time-management skills. Responsibilities: • Assist lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and filing pleadings, preparing and organizing exhibits for hearings, conducting legal research, organizing and coordinating witnesses, and assisting with client meetings • Be the point person/primary contact for assigned files, maintain and update a spreadsheet of current matters and status to ensure deadlines are met, and clients are satisfied • Perform all matter-related work, including drafting legal documents, correspondence, forms, and more, under the supervision of a lawyer • Correspondence (in person, in writing, and via telephone) with clients and other parties involved in matters • Accurate timekeeping • Assisting with other legal matters and duties as assigned Qualifications: • Excellent communication skills--written and verbal • At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting • Candidates should possess high-level organizational and time-management skills • Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference • Prior litigation experience Compensation: $22 - $28 hourly
