Sand Law, PLLC is a fast-paced, fun environment with a downtown Saint Paul setting. Our firm is a multi-state practicing firm in North Dakota and Minnesota while providing representation in the fields of Personal Injury and Criminal Defense. As a Paralegal, your primary responsibility will be overall case management for assigned cases including, but not limited to, document preparation and review; research, fact checking and trial preparation. The Paralegal will work directly with legal assistants, attorneys, and other employees to ensure proper case management for our clients. The position includes potential for upward mobility and advancement within the firm while working alongside other staff and attorneys.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for overall case management, organization, and procession – delegate tasks as needed
Manage client communication and keeping clients up-to date on their cases
Manage and oversee attorney calendars and scheduling of statements; depositions; mediations; etc.
Manage and oversee proper handling and documenting of file costs and invoices
Other tasks and duties as assigned and as needed for the proper and efficient handling of client claims/files
Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.
Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
