Paralegal – Workers’ Compensation Defense (Hybrid)

Are you an experienced Workers’ Compensation Paralegal—or an Insurance Adjuster ready to transition into the legal field? MKRS LAW, a respected defense firm serving Florida’s workers’ compensation community since 1958, is looking for a motivated Paralegal to join our Coral Gables office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Review and analyze case files to assist in final hearing preparation
Draft pleadings, motions, petitions, responses, and discovery documents
Conduct legal research and summarize depositions, medical records, and expert reports
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather statements and schedule inspections
Prepare matter evaluations and detailed client status reports
Organize, index, and maintain case files using case management software (ATO/Client Profiles)
Support attorneys with trial preparation, exhibits, and final hearing packages
Attend client meetings, hearings, and virtual conferences as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of Florida Workers’ Compensation law (Chapter 440 Statutes)
Experience with legal research tools, statutes, and case law analysis
Proficiency with litigation support software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
Spanish language skills a plus, but not required
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ paralegal experience in Workers’ Compensation law
Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or equivalent certification required
Familiarity with ATO (Client Profiles) or similar case management system
Former insurance adjusters with relevant Workers’ Compensation defense experience are strongly encouraged to apply
