Position Summary
The Paramedic is responsible for providing advanced pre-hospital life support, patient assessment, and emergency medical care in accordance with state protocols and organizational policies. This role requires strong clinical skills, quick decision-making, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to emergency calls and provide high-quality advanced life support (ALS) care.
Assess, treat, and stabilize patients in a variety of urgent and emergent situations.
Operate ambulance vehicles safely and efficiently in compliance with Minnesota state regulations.
Document patient care reports accurately and promptly.
Collaborate with EMTs, firefighters, law enforcement, and hospital staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
Maintain medical equipment, vehicle readiness, and overall operational preparedness.
Participate in ongoing training, quality assurance, and professional development activities.
Qualifications
Current Minnesota Paramedic License (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
National Registry Paramedic (NRP) preferred.
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS; PALS and PHTLS/ITLS preferred.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift and move patients and equipment in demanding physical environments.
Schedule & Work Environment
Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work performed in ambulance environments, community settings, and hospitals; includes exposure to weather, stressful situations, and physically strenuous activity.
