Parian Logistics is a shared services organization providing third-party logistics and centralized corporate support services to a group of affiliated Canadian clothing retailers, including Warehouse One, Ricki’s, Bootlegger, and cleo (the business units). Located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Parian Logistics’ shared business services include accounting and finance, logistics management, IT, digital marketing, and store construction services.

Parian Logistics is currently seeking a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) who has strong retail and business acumen and is driven to gain a deep financial understanding of the business units. The Manager, FP&A will be responsible for management reporting, financial analysis and planning, and financial decision support for the business units. Reporting to Parian’s Vice President of Finance, the Manager, FP&A will also work closely and directly with the President of Comark Holdings to provide timely management reporting as well as financial and strategic insight into the businesses. The ideal candidate has a management accounting mindset who demonstrates financial leadership by developing strong, collaborative relationships with business leaders.

This role will require the successful candidate to:

Lead and manage strategic planning initiatives including annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and management reporting processes; support the development of robust financial plans for decision-making.

Consolidate plan packages from the business units for analysis, report preparation, and submission to parent company, board members, and other stakeholders.

Build a deep understanding of the individual business units, their priorities, key performance indicators, cost drivers and trends; identify opportunities for enhancement or improvement.

Support process improvement through value-add analyses of financial and non-financial data.

Provide financial leadership by developing strong, trusting relationships with the business unit senior leadership teams.

Collaborate with the business units by providing analytical support and/or reporting as requested; provide sound and robust financial analysis as a trusted partner in issue analysis.

Coach and improve the financial acumen and decision-making of the people you support.

Provide direction regarding policies, procedures and internal controls and their development.

Provide support and mentorship to finance team colleagues.

Provide ad hoc & self-driven financial analysis as needed to improve business.

Lead special projects and ad-hoc assignments as required.

Parian Logistics is looking for an individual who has the following education, skills and experience:

A minimum of five years of progressive experience in a similar, management-level role is required; experience with financial management activities, including planning, budgeting, analysis, and expenditure control rooted in retail and management accounting environments.

A university degree, with a focus on accounting or finance, is required.

A professional accounting designation and current membership in CPA Manitoba or CPA Canada (applicants actively pursuing a CPA designation and nearing completion may be considered).

Knowledge of complex financial and business management concepts and practices used to evaluate and analyze financial and operational performance.

Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience with a customer service orientation.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong knowledge of other Microsoft Office products.

Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.

Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.

Commitment to positive customer experiences and delivering superior service to internal customers.

Retail, logistics/distribution, and/or sales industry experience is an asset.
