    Job Description

    The HR Intern assists and supports their assigned Human Resources Manager in the execution of administrative tasks, analytics, and reoccurring/special projects.  The Human Resources Intern may be assigned to one or more HR Centers of Expertise (e.g. COEs such as Total Rewards, HRBPs, Recruiting, Payroll, and Talent Management), as determined by the incumbent’s manager.  The Intern will receive hands-on exposure to the operations of a mid-sized company’s Human Resources department in the Energy sector.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Assists in the administration of domestic employee benefit programs, including but not limited to health and welfare benefits and retirement savings plans.
    • Assists in the administration of compensation projects including, but not limited to salary structure administration, salary survey participation and analysis, market pricing, bonus administration, stock, and long-term incentive administration.
    • Aids in the preparation and distribution of HR communication materials as directed by the manager.
    • Navigates the Company’s HRMS (or other HR Systems) to produce reports and mine employee data.
    • Conforms to the Company Code of Conduct and published standards.

    NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • If Intern, PREFER UNDERGRADUATE IN LAST ACADEMIC YEAR OR GRADUATE-LEVEL STUDENT with a major in either: HUMAN RESOURCES, FINANCE, MATHEMATICS, ACCOUNTING OR BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.
    • If trainee, minimum one year of relevant experience in HUMAN RESOURCES OR FINANCE/ACCOUNTING FIELDS.
    • Must be able to follow instructions and take direction and coaching from the manager.
    • MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO SYNTHESIZE DATA AND DRAW CONCLUSIONS AND/OR IDENTIFY PATTERNS AND TRENDS TO SOLVE PROBLEMS THROUGH ANALYSIS AND DEVELOP SOLUTIONS.
    • Must have the ability to work with general mathematical concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to effect compensation analysis.
    • Must have an intermediate-level skillset with Microsoft Excel and Word to assist in administrative tasks.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
