    ParkerBeth Search Partners is seeking an IT Manager for one of our key clients. This is a FULL-TIME/ON-SITE opportunity in Encino, Ca with a competitive salary and a generous benefits plan.

    This position requires working 12 months a year, with summer being the most intense season to work on and maintain technologies before students return in the fall.

    Our client is a non-profit 2nd-12th grade private college preparatory school that serves students with diagnosed learning differences.     Position Summary:

    The IT Manager will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and upgrading the technology infrastructure of the school. This role will manage equipment distribution, upkeep, and repair in addition to drafting and implementing the IT strategic plan through conducting regular audits of systems and equipment. The IT Manager will recommend technology solutions and implement technology assessments, new initiatives, and equipment procurement. This position ensures that the IT department provides efficient and effective technical support services while working with the Educational Technology Coordinator to provide education-related services to faculty and students. The ideal candidate for the IT Manager is someone with a strategic vision, supports the school's mission, and strives to grow the existing technologies.

    Job responsibilities for the IT Manager:

    • Manages and oversees the information technology infrastructure for the school including hardware, network setup, and configuration, network services, software, compliance, and IT services.
    • Leads projects such as design, deployment, and maintenance of new systems, networks, and services.
    • Works with the Director of Finance and Operations to develop the annual IT budget; manages and tracks the IT budget; recommends capital and other purchases.
    • Consults with senior management and the executive team to appropriately address threats and critical incidents.
    • Keeps abreast of the latest trends, standards, security concerns, threats, and alerts.
    • Notifies users of any impending issues and how to effectively address them.
    • Establishes consistent best practices for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end user and network hardware, software, and peripheral devices as well as network services. Documents and implements IT policies and procedures; provides guidance to ensure compliance.
    • Collaborates with Education Technology Coordinator regarding selecting educational software for the school and methods and modes to train faculty on education software to enable learning.
    • Works with Human Resources to onboard newly hired employees to ensure they have appropriate IT devices and a school-provided email on their start date. Briefs new employees about equipment use and reviews the acceptable use policy.
    • Collects IT equipment and disables email and other accounts timely upon employee termination.
    • Analyzes requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs.
    • Assesses vendors and develops test strategies for new hardware and software products.
    • Works collaboratively with vendors to maintain and service all hardware and software products.
    • Maintains Blackbaud Education Management Solutions databases (Education Edge, Financial Edge, Raiser’s Edge, and Tuition Management) as well as the Silverpoint and JAMF databases.
    • Ensures data flow complies with the school’s acceptable use policy.
    • Upgrades software, patches, and operating systems on a continuous basis.
    • Coordinates set-ups for AV, live streaming, and video conference equipment for in-person and remote events both on and off campus, as needed.
    • Maintains the inventory of technology equipment and manages software licenses; prepares and maintains technology equipment replenishment program.
    • Troubleshoots, repairs, and tests hardware, including network hardware, and software to ensure issues related to internal IT are resolved.
    • Identify, diagnose and resolve technical issues with classroom and other technology.
    • Responsible for ensuring network security and anti-virus policies are in place and regular backup of the network occurs.
    • Manages Helpdesk process on a daily basis by responding to issues submitted through the Help-Desk ticketing process; supervises Help-Desk Technician to ensure they are properly trained on all of the school IT matters and executes procedures for resolving issues. Provides support in the hiring and training of the IT department staff.
    • Recommends initiatives to implement changes to improve the quality of services provided by the IT Department.
    • Identifies and determines root causes of problems and develops and presents approved recommendations for improvement.
    • Oversee the day-to-day IT functions with Mac products (every student has an iPad and every staff member has a Macbook).

    Skills/Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or higher (in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of experience in IT operations.
    • K-12 school experience preferred.
    • All employees are required to be fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus including booster shots.
    • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems.
    • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
    • A firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
    • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and systems.
    • Strong verbal and presentation communication skills, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent analytical skills. Accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with the utmost discretion. Ability to independently set priorities and handle competing priorities.
    • Comfort in working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work outside the job description in assisting other IT team members and the Director of Finance and Operations when unanticipated challenges arise.
    • Knowledge and experience in addressing parents, faculty, and staff calmly and professionally. Polite and calm demeanor – handles inquiries and works through problems tactfully and respectfully.
    • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
    • Ability to pass a full background check of 10 years, and fingerprinting.
