    This position will independently or with minimal supervision, assists the mechanical team in application of principles, methods, and techniques of engineering technology by performing the following duties. Performs non-routine and complex assignments involving planning and conducting a project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project.

    Applicant will assist the Professional Engineer with the design and production of HVAC and plumbing design documents for commercial construction. Projects will include design in multiple sectors such as K-12, Higher education, Medical, Office buildings, Churches etc. This position will require close collaboration with the PE and mechanical team, as well as other disciplines. Applicant should have a willingness to learn, and the initiative to find creative solutions.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Uses design software to perform calculations.
    • Design and model mechanical and plumbing system components in Revit for construction documents.
    • Coordinate design elements with electrical engineers, structural engineers and architects.
    • Provide input and assist in maintaining Revit libraries and details.
    • Perform site visits to gather information needed for design.
    • Perform construction observations and assist with construction administration duties including Submittals, RFI’s and CCR’s.

    Basic Requirements

    • 5+ years of HVAC and plumbing design.
    • Fluency in the operation of Autodesk Revit.
    • Experience with Trane Trace 3D is beneficial.
